When Vattenfall and Swedfund divested from a rejuvenation project of rubber trees in 2012, its operator Buchanan Renewables decided to abandon the project leaving communities struggling.

According to the CSO Swedwatch: “Promised development effects never materialized and today local communities still suffer from the human rights impacts, with no remedy in sight.” This course of events suggests that Vattenfall, Swedfund and Buchanan Renewables disengaged from this project in an irresponsible manner.
